Liebe Eltern, dear parents and guardians,
Friday, December 22, is our last day of school in 2023. What a year it’s been!
The year Canada burned with never-before-seen wild fires. Ongoing war in the Ukraine and other places in the world with many people desperate to leave their country of origin and to move to safer, better places like Canada, the USA or European countries.
We are blessed to live in Canada. While life is not always easy nor is it always perfect – there is help for those who need it.
This year, the school has prepared a stunning 27 hampers for Bowcroft families. A huge thank you to the many Bowcroft parents who dropped off Lego sets, socks, etc. Twelve Mile Coulee school, a CBE school in the NW, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the NW were most generous contributors. A big THANK YOU to all of them!
We have had two amazing nights of choir and ballroom dance performances! The overall feedback was that this was one of the best winter performances ever and the set-up in the gym was such that a lot of people had ‘front row’ privileges, which was also appreciated. The kids did their best to impress and the amount of beautiful dresses and outfits in general was impressive.
The learning commons was beautifully decorated with the art projects from each class.
Director Martin Poirier and language strategist Guillaume Laroche joined us for the German evening and were both impressed with the evening, too.
I wish you and your families a wonderful time together. May you find peace in your heart and time to play cribbage or Wingspan or … any other game you like to play as a family. If you are heading out into the mountains, stay safe. If you are travelling, safe travels. Whatever your plans are, I hope they involve some of your favorite people.
School starts again on January 8, 2024. See you in the New Year!!!
Warm Regards,
Meike Thomsen, Principal
