Students are encouraged to leave valuable items, including electronic devices, at home. Electronic devices brought to the school should be left with the teacher.
We have a 'NO CELL BELL TO BELL' Policy here at Bowcroft.
ALL cell phones are to remain out of site and out of hands. Students who have personal technology are highly encouraged to leave it at home. If your student needs to have a cell phone for safety walking to and from school please encourage them to leave it in the cell phone holder in the main office. The school will not be responsible for any lost or stolen technology items.
Procedure when phones are seen in hands during the school day.
1st offence: Students are reminded to keep phones out of site and put away. They are given the opportunity to put it away.
2nd offence: Students are to bring their phone to the office and a call home will be made.
3rd office: Students are to bring their phone to the office and parent/guardians will be asked to pick the phone up from the office. Students will be requested to leave their phone in the office daily from this point on from 8:55-3:40pm.
Please talk with your student about appropriate use of their personal technology.
SNAP chat is a major cause of bullying and students feeling targeted. We recommend that all students under the age of 13 DO NOT have this application on their devices as it is illegal for them to have an account.
