Liebe Eltern, dear parents and guardians,
In my 22 years in Calgary, we never had a weather event like we did this Thursday, April 16. So much snow!!!! Cancelling a field trip that would have had 300 of our students enjoy a day of learning at AGGIE DAYS is a difficult decision. When the road conditions deteriorate to red all across the city, the only SAFE decision was to cancel the field trip. I would like to acknowledge the many hours of work each teacher put into the preparation of this field trip, as well as all the parents who had taken the day off work to be able to support the field trip as a volunteer and the disappointment this has caused everyone: students, parents and staff.
Always trying to connect curriculum with real life, the grade 5/6 team is running the following:
Travel & Business Marketplace
A World of Travel and Businesses Awaits – Join Our Marketplace Event!
…and more! Students will be selling a variety of creative products and services to K–Grade 6 students, parents, and staff. They will learn to handle real money (adding prices, giving change) etc.
- When: Wednesday, May 27, 2026
- Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
More Casino Volunteers Needed!
Only two more parents signed up for casino slots last week. BPAC is still short 25 VOLUNTEERS ALL slots must be filled for the casino to go forward. If they are not filled, the school will miss out on the $70,000 to $80,000. This would mean that the students cannot go on as many field trips as they have been (and not paid for most of them) and the school can’t afford any kind of residency then either. Please, do talk to your family and friends and sign up together and make it an ‘evening out’ while helping your child’s school.
As of right now, we have the following openings:
- Thursday daytime (11 AM-7:30 PM) - 3 on-call volunteers open
- Thursday evening (7 PM-3:30 AM) - 5 open spots
- Thursday late night (11:15 PM-3:30 AM) - 6 open spots
- Friday daytime - 3 on-call volunteers open
- Friday evening - 5 open spots
- Friday late night - 3 on-call volunteers open
A massive THANK YOU to all the volunteers that have already signed up! We cannot do this without you!
Bowcroft Hockey
The Bowcroft Hockey season with Mr. Benty is wrapping up. Please see the ‘play off’ list and each team’s standing! Bowcroft students are so very lucky to have a teacher who is spending all of his lunches running hockey club for most of the school year. Thank you, Mr. Benty!
