Liebe Eltern, dear parents and guardians

Good news to share: Michelle Edworthy, one of our parents and great garden lover, has been successful in applying for a TD FEEF School Grant (Learning Garden Enhancement) for $3,350. We will also receive some donated 4-year-old horse manure compost. Our tomatoes etc. should be growing like crazy this summer!

AGEC also supported the purchase of math manipulatives with $3,303.76. Most of them have arrived! So very exciting!

Our RAM (budget) came out and we will be adding teachers and 2 additional lunchroom supervisors for next year. At this point, it looks like we will be having 19 classrooms plus a music room. We are expecting an additional 55 students for a total of 420 students! Teachers will be able to apply for different types of positions throughout May and June.

Registration for the 24-25 school year is ongoing. When you register at Bowcroft, you have the choice of registering for the community program (everything is taught in English) or the German bilingual program (50% is taught in German, 50% is taught in English). You can enrol in the German program for kindergarten and/or grade 1. If your child is in the English kindergarten class right now and you think that learning German is something that interests you, then please call or email myself to make an appointment so I can share more about the German program with you. The German program has existed and has been promoted at Bowcroft for the past 23 years.

BPAC: Thank you for the parents who came out to meet Principal Austin from Thomas B. Riley School. A number of new parents attended. We hope to see you again!  BPAC is asking for volunteers for the Wellness Wednesdays for your hard-working staff at Bowcroft:

Wellness Wednesday Sign Up to your next WAG? It takes us from current, to the end of the school year.https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050B4EA8A82BA3F94-49125440-wellness

On May 10, the Flower Dance will be the highlight on Friday morning. While we are not Mr. D and not have some of his amazing equipment (he was a professional DJ), we do hope that students will enjoy the morning. Each class will have their time slot with their buddy class to continue their community building.

Warm regards,

Meike Thomsen, Principal
