Dear Parents and Guardians,
The dance performances have been fantastic. Mr. Martin and the students have worked hard to learn so much. Some of our students have never performed before, so learning how to walk in, put on their performance smile, how to take a bow, how to ask a lady to dance … were all new skills for them. I hope you enjoyed the evening as much as I did. Ballroom dancing is so important because it boosts fitness through cardio, strength, balance, and coordination; enhances social skills by creating community and connection; and builds confidence by mastering steps, improving posture, and fostering self-expression in a supportive setting, leading to overall well-being. Dancing builds community, a feeling of belonging and teaches to trust your dance partner. All very important. Thank you also to Ms. Hou and her choir. Coming out two evenings in a row was a big commitment from the parents and students.
A big Thank You goes to each Bowcroft teacher for practicing the steps with their students on days when they did not see Mr. Martin. Some students could be seen practicing at lunch time outside, despite the snow and ice. Such dedication!
A big Thank You is going to one of our dad’s for pruning our ‘baby trees’ this week. It will keep them healthy and thriving next year!
Next week is the last week before winter break!
