Dear Parents and Guardians,
The German classes all over Canada are invited once a year by the ZfA (Deutsch Auslandsschularbeit International) to create movies on a specific topic. This year’s topic was “Traumberufe” (dream jobs). Students in the German grade 4/5 and 5/6 class worked hard in October to submit their movies. Two of the submissions won 4th and 5th place. The submissions were called “Die Traumschule” and “Das verpatzte Konzert”. Congratulations!
Next Wednesday is the last week of Running and Reading (S2F). It is starting up again after the winter break on January 15. Please ensure to pick up your child at 3:40PM on December 18 and January 8.
Below, please see an update on the week-long field trips that are happening this year. Most teachers have sent out links so parents can sign up for volunteering. Each teacher will need numerous parents as volunteers to be able to go.
We would like to give a shout out to Nicole Walter and ongoing room 1 volunteer Alessandra Predolin for covering the last 2 vacant volunteer slots while not having children in Ms. Dietrich’s classroom. Thank you!
Some new activities have been added to the calendar.
Grade 6 Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs)
- The 2024-25 Grade 6 Mathematics and Grade 6 English Language Arts and Literature (ELAL) PATs will be administered and will reflect the new program of study
- The 2024-25 Grade 6 Social Studies PAT will be administered and will continue to reflect the existing Grade 6 Social Studies program of study.
- In 2024-25, Grade 6 Science provincial achievement tests will not be administered.
