Liebe Eltern, dear parents and guardians,
The CBE acknowledges long service awards for every 5 years of working for them. It is my great honor to acknowledge the following staff:
Candace Pocock - 10 Years
Cynthia Ruhrmann - 5 Years
Joanna Rusnak - 15 Years
Amy Tetz - 15 Years
Lusmaru Vargas Villasmil - 5 Years
Frau Hauck has started her cosmetology club for grade 5 and 6 students. Seven grade 6 and four grade 5 students have signed up. They met for the first time this week, and the students had so much fun, they asked Frau Hauck if they could do this club more than once a week!
Traffic Concerns
On Feb 22, 2024, Constable Randy with two fellow officers from the Residential Traffic Safety Unit watched the morning drop off. This allowed them to have conversations with many parents around the importance of teaching children how to safely cross a road – by using the crosswalk! They were supported by 4 photo radar units who did not engage with parents, but simply took photos of illegally parked cars.
In the near future, the school will receive:
- Message boards (Please don’t j-walk) that will be posted outside
- In-roads pedestrian signs
- Pedestrian signs will get updated (so the sign is on both sides)
- Cones to prevent parking too close to the crosswalk (which makes young students impossible to be seen by drivers
