Some more good news:
OurSCHOOL survey is my favorite survey. Why? Because it is the same students completing the survey in the fall and again in the spring.
OurSCHOOL survey results from Grade 4 & 5 students show that they have more positive relationships, improved general health, increased life satisfaction, increased purpose in life/goals (Eudaimonia), pursue more activities that are fun and interesting to them (Hedonia), with self-regulation and cultural awareness staying the same. Given the positive trends overall, seeing an increase in anxiety is a wonderment/curiosity.
OurSCHOOL survey results from Grade 6 students show similar positive trends. The grade 6 students have one additional marker: depression.
Depression has declined significantly and Bowcroft’s grade 6 students are now doing better than the Canadian norm.
My Transit Ride 2025-26

Each year, CBE collaborates with CCSD and Calgary Transit to provide a free orientation program that provides an opportunity for new and first-time transit riders to increase their comfort level and ability to ride Calgary Transit safely and efficiently to and from school.
The orientation includes different stations for families to visit to learn more about route planning, fares, how to ride the bus or C-Train, safety features, rider etiquette and much more.
Sessions run every half-hour and last approximately 1 hour.
Session Dates and Times
Wednesday, Aug. 13 from 5 – 8 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 16 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Calgary Transit and CBE Transportation staff will be available to answer questions at these sessions. Link: Calgary Transit Orientations
