Dear Bowcroft Families
Last week was a busy and fun-filled time at our school! We celebrated Pink Shirt Day, reinforcing kindness and inclusivity, and held our ROARS assembly, where students focused on the theme of Respect. With the much-improved weather, students have enjoyed returning outside for fresh air and play.
As we step into March, longer days bring the beginning of Daylight Savings Time and the Holy Month of Ramadan. With the changing seasons, warmer temperatures mean melting snow and wet fields, so please ensure students are dressed appropriately for outdoor play, including waterproof footwear and extra socks.
Due to the ongoing labour action, the School Council meeting will now take place online. Your understanding is appreciated, and all parents are encouraged to attend virtually—input is valued, and meaningful discussions are anticipated.
As new administrators, both Ms. Smith and I have had a busy transition, but we have felt incredibly welcomed and supported by staff, students, and families. We are excited to work together to continue fostering a positive and inclusive school environment.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our office at 403-777-6020
Thank you for your ongoing support!
Warm regards,
Jennifer McTighe

Ramadan
Ramadan, a significant time of prayer and reflection in the Muslim community, takes place during the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. During this time, some families may choose to have their children fast during the school day.
If your child will be fasting and would prefer an alternative space during lunchtime instead of the classroom, please let us know. We will provide a quiet, supportive space to ensure they have a comfortable and positive experience.
If you would like to arrange this for your child, please email me at jlmctighe@cbe.ab.ca and we will coordinate accordingly
