Provinical Achievement Tests

On Monday next week, our grade 6 students are writing their very first provincial achievement test (PAT) in English Language Arts, Part A, which is story writing and a non-fiction piece of writing. In Alberta, Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) are important standardized assessments that evaluate how well students in Grades 6 and 9 are meeting provincial curriculum standards. They serve to measure individual student progress, identify learning gaps, and provide objective data for teachers and school divisions to improve educational programs.

Flohmarkt / Garage Sale

Next Wednesday is the Flohmarkt/garage sale, organized by the grade 5/6 team, held in the gym on Wednesday, May 27. I am excited to see what the offerings will be this year. Last year, parents and especially grandparents supported this event tremendously. For most students, it is their first time of having customers and making change – a skill that is still important!

Ms. Dietrich's Grade 2/3 Field trip

Ms. Dietrich’s grade 2/3 class is looking forward to next week’s Open Minds field trip, that lasts all week. Thank you to the many parents who are volunteering to make this weeklong fieldtrip possible. A special Thank You to Ms. Alessandra Predolin, who is a weekly volunteer in Ms. Dietrich’s class and who is dedicating 2 full days of her retirement to this class and it’s students! Kindergarten Orientation

All parents who have registered their child for kindergarten for the fall is invited to join our Welcome To Kindergarten on Thursday next week at 6pm. If you know anyone who has a 5 year old at home and has NOT registered – please ask them to come to the school asap, as we staff on the numbers we know right now. Danke!
