Dear Parents & Guardians,

You know you are old when…. Former students are now colleagues. This week, we had the great pleasure of welcoming Ms. S. as one of our substitute teachers. Ms. S. was a student in the community program, as was her brother. To see them both now with a degree in business, and Ms. S. returning to Bowcroft as a teacher, fills my heart with joy and pride.

Final Fire Drill

This week, we conducted our last fire drill of the year. Six in total. Chantal joined our students again on Friday and shared the Seven Sacred Teachings with the students. Please ask your child/ren about their time with her.

Sports Day

Thank you to the parents who have signed up to help with the Sports Day on the very last day of school. While TB Riley also has their sports day that morning, our fields are large enough to accommodate us all.

Field Trips

Frau Hauck is taking 12 grade 5/6 students who have attended her cosmetology club on a cosmetology field trip in early June. A first at Bowcroft, and I’m so curious to hear what the students will share when they return from their trip! Ms. Buckner and Ms. Dietrich were successful in their applications for Open Minds for next year. So, if you are going to have a grade 3 in the community program – you will be going on an awesome field trip in May 2026/June 2026. This highlights, how FAR in advance some field trips need to be applied for and planned for.

Welcome to Kindergarten

Thursday evening, we had our Welcome to Kindergarten. We had an excellent turn out with only 6 families not coming! Thank you to the volunteers who helped set up the centers in the gym and for running them.

Transportation Registration

Bussing registration is now open. Fees for next year are $360 for both ways and $180 for kindergarten students who are ONLY riding the bus in the morning to get to school.

Make sure to register prior to June 22, 2025. If you miss this deadline, your address will not be taken into consideration when the bus routes are being made. If you have not been eligible for bussing in the past, do check, as you may be eligible now under the new rules.

Warm regards,
Meike Thomsen, Principal
