Dear Parents and Guardians
The walking field trips have started and the week-long field trips are starting either really soon (Ms. Dietrich is going first) or happening early in 2025. It’s good to see that approximately70 parents have police clearances that are being processed. Fingers crossed, they will all be completed by the time your child’s field trip starts. Thank you to everyone who has started the process and is willing to give Bowcroft the “gift of time”. Danke!
As you know, Bowcroft is using the program called Classroom Champions to connect students with an Olympian and to hear their stories of overcoming difficulties and PERSEVEERING in the face of difficulty. Nobody wakes up one day and IS an Olympian. One wakes up WANTING to be an Olympian and then works hard for YEARS before becoming one! The founder of Classroom Champions, Steve Mesler, is speaking to the staff during the PD day tomorrow. We are so excited to hear from him personally!
The weather has been great, the temperatures warm … yet the office at the end of the day is brimming over with students who are being picked up late. Please be at school, at your child’s door at 3:40pm for when the bell rings (or 12:45pm on Fridays). The office closes at 4:00pm.
Bowcroft Hockey Update
Mr. Benty has been leading drop-in floor hockey during some lunches, schedule permitting, for grades 2-4, and it's been a huge hit! The sessions are always full, and some students even help referee the games. Over the past two years, Mr. Benty has seen incredible improvement in both skill and pace—who knows, we might have future NHL or PWHL players among us!
As we prepare to officially start clubs, Mr. Benty will post a sign-up sheet for Division 1 (grades 2-3) and Division 2 (grades 4-6).
A big thank you to the parent who donated a mask and chest protector for our goalies! We’re still in need of at least one more mask and chest protector. If anyone has unused or slightly used equipment they can donate, please drop it off at the office. Your support is greatly appreciated! Let’s keep the momentum going!
Tomorrow, Friday, is no school. See you all on Monday!
Warm regards,
Meike Thomsen, Principal
