WAG Jan. 29 - Feb. 2 | Thank you! Book Fair, Open House
Liebe Eltern, dear Parents & Guardians,
The Open House was a full success. We had many parents come to check out the program and the school. Frau Susanne Brunthaler, a retired education assistant, was so generous to come back to help with handing out the pretzels and Apfelscholle (mix of bubbly water and apple juice). She also brought her hubby to help. Danke, Susanne!
Thank you to all the parents who drove their choir student to the event. Hearing students sing warms everyone’s heart. We are also grateful for the German men’s choir, who also came to support the event. Kids Come First were also present to talk with parents who will need daycare in the fall. Kindergarten registrations are much higher this year than in past years.
On Tuesday, January 30, you will be able to log into MyCBE and review your child/ren’s report cards! Teachers and admin have worked tirelessly these past couple of weeks to enter all the marks and write all the comments. I hope that you will take the time to look at them. Please print a copy for your records. We can see who has looked at their report cards and who has not. It would be encouraging to see that ALL our parents have looked at them.
Celebration: We are happy to share that attendance has improved overall at Bowcroft. The front office also would like to say THANK YOU for calling in when your child is going to stay home sick.
Book Fair during Parent-Teacher Conferences in March! Mark your calendar!
Wednesday March 20 9am-4pm
Thursday March 21 9am-8pm
Friday March 22 8am-1pm
The grade 6 classes enjoyed a Late French Immersion presentation from Branton Junior High this week. Second language learning opens doors and challenges your child! Please consider attending their Open House on February 1, 2024. It is also beneficial to enter a whole new group of students – make new friends! Branton students also always go on a trip to Quebec to apply their newly learned language skills. How much fun!
The ROARS assembly for January was cancelled due to report card writing and class re-organizations. The next ROARS assembly will be on February 23, 2024 for the months of December, January and February (so six students per class!).
Please be advised that I will be away from school on February 1, 2 and 5 (Thursday, Friday, Monday). Retired principal Mr. Thomas Elbel will be in to support Ms. Gartshore.
Warm Regards,
Meike Thomsen, Principal
