WAG Nov. 6-10 | Remembrance Day, Halloween Costumes, Conferences, Weaving School Council

Liebe Eltern, dear parents and guardians,

Our Remembrance Day assembly on November 8 will start at 10:30am. This is 15 minutes earlier than initially advertised. Thank you to everyone who have sent in photos of their family members who served in the military. If you have photos but have not send them in yet, Mr. Tetz would love to hear from you attetz@cbe.ab.ca

Halloween saw many unique costumes. Most of them fun and appropriate. We were surprised to see that one student bringing in a (fake) gun in a gun holster, including the ammunition that goes with it. Considering the heightened sensitivity towards guns (fake or not), I would ask parents in the future not to choose a costume for their child that involves a fake gun for school. This costume would be more appropriate during the evening when you go Trick-or-Treating with your child in the neighborhood.

With the break in November, parent-teacher interviews are approaching fast. If you child is on an IPP, the office will be calling you to schedule an interview prior to the fall break (early next week). Everyone else will be able to book their interview time starting November 13 at 6:00pm.

Now that our mandatory three fire drills are done prior to December, we are now taking a break before completing our next three in the spring time. Typically, we skip drills during our coldest winter months.

We are very proud to announce that we had many ROARS recipients this month. Thank you for all the parents who were able to join this special moment.

Next week will see finger weaving with Chantal on Tuesday.

Hope to see many of you on Monday, November 6, 2023 at 6:30pm in the learning commons. I will present the PAT results from June.

Warm Regards,
Meike Thomsen, Principal
