WAG Sept. 4-8 | Welcome Back, Tech Presentation, Book Fair
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome back! The first two days have been filled with smiles, giggles and excitement as new students and teachers got to know each other.
Over the summer, all broken lights in the gym (50%) were replaced. Some stucco work above door 3 was also repaired. We also received two new computer carts as our old ones are broken.
Mr. Aaron Thiessen is filling in for Ms. Jenn Farrell. She has a couple more weeks to go prior to becoming a mom. We truly wish her all the best. Becoming a parent is a life-changing event that changes who you are. If you wish to send well-wishes her way, please drop them off in the office and we will make sure Ms. Farrell is receiving them.
Start-up was busy with additional registrations on a daily basis. Our projections were 342 and we are currently sitting at 351 students. Especially our grade 4/5 classes have been growing considerably.
Tech Dangers Presentation Grade 3-6: Parents, please join us!
On September 11 from 9:20 to 10:20am Paul Davis will speak to our grade 3-6 students (and their parents) on Internet Safety (and Dangers) and responsibilities. We encourage parents from all ages to join us. Please Rsvp to let us know if you are coming, so we can have the correct number of chairs out. If you would like to get an idea on what to expect, please watch this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaEn0BQS0vY
Book Fair
Ms. Moya has booked the book fair to come to us early this year! You will be able to visit the book fair on Wednesday, Thursday all day (including the evening of parent-teacher conferences) and Friday morning (also parent-teacher conferences). Please mark your calendar! A link asking parents to volunteer for some of the shifts will come out later. Stay tuned.
With all of CBE now having the same school calendar (except for some special settings), we now have a FALL BREAK for the first time. It will be from November 9 to November 14 with classes resuming on November 15.
Wishing all of you a wonderful long weekend.
Warm Regards,
Meike Thomsen
Principal/Schulleiterin
