Liebe Eltern, dear parents and guardians,

High temperatures are causing some of our classrooms to become very warm in the afternoons. Please ensure your child brings:

  • A water bottle
  • Layered clothing

This helps students stay comfortable as temperatures change throughout the day.

Welcome to Kindergarten Evening

On Thursday evening, we hosted our Welcome to Kindergarten event.

Parents who already have children in the school system often arrive feeling more relaxed, while families entering the school system for the first time are understandably excited and full of questions — which we are always happy to answer.

We look forward to welcoming our newest families to the school community.

Volunteer Celebration

Our volunteers were celebrated on Friday, and we hope everyone enjoyed their time together in the gym.

The music, refreshments, and especially the adorable student “Thank You” iMovie made the event truly memorable. Hearing students describe what it means to have their mom, dad, friend, or family member volunteer at the school often brings both laughter and tears at the same time.

Thank you to all of our volunteers for the incredible support you provide throughout the year.

Grade 6 PATs

On Monday, our Grade 6 students wrote their first PAT.

It is always interesting to observe how differently students approach exams. Some students submit their work after only an hour, while others use nearly the full three hours available. Typically, taking more time leads to stronger results.

We are proud of the effort our students continue to show.

Flohmarkt / Garage Sale

Wednesday featured the Flohmarkt/Garage Sale organized by the Grade 5/6 team in the gym.

The excitement and energy throughout the morning were incredible, and the cheesecake was absolutely delicious.

It was wonderful to see students, parents, and grandparents so engaged with one another. For many students, handling cash and giving change was both exciting and educational.

One Grade 6 student summed up a key learning perfectly when asked what they learned most from the experience:

“Our price was too high in the beginning. We realized we had to lower it and then our stuff started to sell.”

Open Minds Field Trip

Ms. Dietrich’s Grade 2/3 class enjoyed a week participating in their Open Minds field trip experience.

One student shared that their favourite part of the week was trying:

“Sports I have never done in my life before.”

Thank you to all the volunteers who joined and supported the class throughout the week.

Warm Regards,

Meike Thomsen
Principal / Schulleiterin
